Merry Christmas to Us!

We are continuing to pursue funding for Africa. Our second day of hot chocolate selling was even more successful than the first! Between the two days we made a total of $200. A small chip off of our total, but a generous chip to say the least. We were also featured in the Lamorinda Weekly and are hoping that the communities that surround us will feel the desire to support us in this journey.

Our future endeavors include another 3 mornings of hot chocolate selling on Monday December 26-28 from 9am-noon. We will also be babysitting on New Years Eve! Need a babysitter? Know someone who does? We are offering babysitting in exchange for donations to our trip.

What was a Christmas gift to us was the easy and convenient online giving site that Young Life set up for us…

We will continue updating here about our journey financially, spiritually, and emotionally. If you want any information about upcoming fundraisers just check our sidebar and email us for more information. Until next time we will be reading Luke 2 so that we may remember the reason for the season, we encourage you to do the same. Merry Christmas!!

And it Begins…

Yesterday I received the call from Drew. Tanzania or Kenya… End of June or Early August.

It is happening.

This news was well timed with the beginning of our fundraising being today. Although we are not sure exactly what the cost of our trip will be, we know the ball park is $3,500-4,000 per person. Hence, starting now. Today we were blessed.

We (Katie, Fiona, Kim, and I) made a batch of peppermint hot chocolate and took it out to the entrance of the Lafayette Reservoir. I was moved by how many people didn’t want hot chocolate in return, but just wanted to support us. I was impressed with how quickly the time flew by. And I am almost always consumed with love for these girls who are seeing the bigger picture AND responding. That they are faithful to the commitment they have made in a time where their generation is accused of doing everything but.

We venture out tomorrow also. In hopes that we will be just as successful. May the hot chocolate flow and people’s hearts feel generous.

Approach Him boldly and with faith. He answers. We are proof.
